Computational models and software tools provide valuable support for water managers. Models help to gain more insight into hydrological systems and to evaluate scenarios. Software tools help to work with these models, for example by generating input data or by facilitating visualization and analysis of model results. Berendrecht Consultancy brings together technical knowledge of software and extensive practical experience with models to deliver high-quality software and modeling solutions.
The increasing availability and resolution of hydrological data make it possible to construct more and more detailed numerical models. This may give rise to the need of further developing model concepts in order to better describe underlying processes. Before we develop and implement new model concepts, we do a thorough analysis of the needs and requirements of our clients. From there we start with the concept and software development. Since we always aim at the highest quality, extensive testing and evaluation are a natural part of our development process.
We develop software primarily for data analysis and to support policy processes in which models play a role. In the groundwater context we have experience with the open-source software iMOD as a tool for supporting model construction and policy processes.
